Established in 2000, the Electrical Engineering Laboratory of Constantine (EELC) has become a key player in the field of electrical engineering in Algeria. Comprising nearly 54 researchers, including faculty and doctoral students, EELC, located at the University of Constantine 1 – Frères Mentouri, is at the heart of technological innovation.
Commitment to Education
Since its inception, EELC has trained numerous generations of engineers through various programs, including doctorates and master's degrees. By integrating experimentation and innovation tools, the laboratory prepares tomorrow's experts to tackle technological challenges.
The Laboratoire d'Électrotechnique de Constantine (LEC) is engaged in several research areas related to electrotechnology, including:
- Energy security
- Integration of electricity network
- Hybrid systems diagnostics and maintenance
- Control of electrical systems
- Energy storage and quality of energy
Research Areas
Our research teams focus on strategic areas:
- Team 1: Design and control of electric machines, study of static converters, and integration with renewable energy.
- Team 2: Analysis of the impacts of distributed energy generation on the distribution network and integration of new energy sources.
- Team 3: Modeling and optimization of electromagnetic induction processes and electromagnetic compatibility.
- Team 4: Advanced control and diagnostic techniques for electrical systems, including fault diagnosis and optimization of machines.
Pilot Projects
Since November 2021, EELC has been awarded the "Tamyouze" label and is guiding several pilot projects, such as:
- IoT for energy safety and quality
- Magnetic separator for ore purification
- Main inverter for electric vehicles
- Renewable energy for electric cars
- Open source platform for educational prototyping
