Welcome to Tamayouz Laboratory
Founded in 2000, the Electrotechnical Laboratory of Constantine (LEC) has established itself as a major player in the field of electrotechnics in Algeria. Composed of a dynamic team of 54 researchers, including teachers and PhD students, LEC is based at Constantine 1 University - Frères Mentouri, where it holds a central place in technological innovation.
In November 2021, LEC obtained the prestigious "Tamayouz" label, rewarding its excellence and commitment to cutting-edge research projects. Under this label, the laboratory partnered with the Industrial Technologies Research Center (CRTI) to strengthen its research activities and develop innovative solutions in electrotechnics.
Today, Tamayouz Laboratory leads several flagship projects in strategic domains, consolidating its role as a leader in technological and scientific advancement in Algeria.
Research Areas
The Electrotechnical Laboratory of Constantine (LEC) focuses on several key areas in electrotechnics, distributed among its different research teams. These areas include:
-
Electrical machines and drives:
- Design, modeling and control of electrical machines (induction machines, permanent magnet synchronous machines) for industrial applications, electric vehicles and renewable energy (wind turbines).
- Study of static converters to improve power quality (active filtering, reactive power compensation, power factor correction).
-
Renewable energy integration and power grid management:
- Analysis of decentralized power generation impacts (distributed generation) on distribution networks.
- Study of technical constraints related to connecting new energy sources to the grid (safety, power quality, etc.).
- Solutions to optimize renewable energy integration in power grids.
-
Electromagnetic induction and electromagnetic compatibility:
- Modeling, simulation and optimization of electromagnetic induction processes (induction heating, non-destructive testing, electromagnetic actuation).
- Study of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in electrical and electronic systems.
-
Diagnostics and operational safety of electrical systems:
- Fault diagnosis in electrical drives and power networks, using analytical approaches and signal processing for early detection.
- Study of multiphase machines to ensure degraded mode operation in case of failure.
- Fault diagnosis in power transmission lines, turbo-generators and transient regimes.
-
Control and optimization systems:
- Development of advanced control techniques for electrical machines and static converters.
- Optimization of industrial processes and electrical systems to improve their efficiency and reliability.
